紙廠「Fedrigoni」發源於1888年義大利的維洛那(Verona),“維洛那(Verona)”也是莎士比亞名著《羅密歐與茱麗葉》作為故事背景的都市,但在1938年因二戰受到波及,於1945年浴火重生後,延續了義大利造紙的百年傳統,也是現今義大利大型的造紙集團。 Fedrigoni所自行出版的”Pulp Magazine”國際期刊,本期的包裝與附錄使用了“Savile Row”(中文譯名:莎蘿紙)的系列紙張,蘊含著義大利人的浪漫天性,與其對於表現設計時裝的優雅精神,是「Fedrigoni」廠牌相當具有代表性的美術紙。 Savile Row系列的其一 ”Tweed(斜紋軟呢)“原本是指使用羊毛做斜紋編織的布料,具有花色多樣、保暖性佳等特色,許多國家都有自己的”Tweed“製法,是國際間久負盛名兼具外觀與實用的傳統布料。其實”Savile Row – Tweed”的本質還是屬於壓紋紙,但是Fedrigoni成功的利用壓紋的原理,將原本布料的編織感重現於紙張上,與上方的西服印樣搭配起來,是不是具有相當的熟悉感呢?

In the year 1888, the paper company “Fedrigoni” was established in Verona, Italy. The city “Verona” also known as the background city of “Romeo & Juliette”. In 1938, the company been affected by World War II but revived in 1945. Let hundred years of Italy papermaking tradition continued. “Pulp Magazine” an international Journal published by Fedrigoni. The package and appendix of current issue use “Savile Row” series paper. You could found the romantic and elegant of Italy. “Savile Row” is one of the remarkable art paper Fedrigoni made.

“Tweed” is one of the art paper in “Savile Row”. Tweed originally means a kind of woollen fabric, with colour effects in the yarn, and made to withstand harsh climate. Many countries now have their own know-how of making tweed, the traditional fabric that is practical and with good performance. However, “Tweed” is still embossed paper, but Fedrigoni successfully uses the embossing technique to reproduce the feeling of weaving on paper.
